Anchors create invisible placeholders on web pages that allow you to link website visitors directly to specific content on that webpage.

How to Add an Anchor

  1. Open the webpage you wish to add the anchor to in the OU Campus editor
  2. Place your cursor in the content you want the anchor to direct visitors to.
    1. Pro tip - place the anchor a line or two above where you want visitors to land if the global website header covers the beginning of your linked content. This can happen in certain instances depending on how your content is arranged.
  3. Click the Anchor icon on your editor toolbar
  4. Enter a name for your anchor - don't user spaces or add an "#" before the name
    1. Pro tip - if you want a space between words in an anchor for readability, use a "-" or an "_" (example: example_anchor)
  5. Click Save
  6. Publish the webpage
